Because many youth and their families cannot access the M’Lop Tapang Education Center on a daily basis, M’Lop Tapang operates a Community Shelters in Phnom Keiv, one of the poorer areas of the Sihanoukville where many impoverished families live.
The Community Shelter offers ideal environments for daily informal education and there is plenty of space available for sports and recreation. Medical Team nurses visit regularly, treating various illnesses and monitoring overall community health. The Community Shelter is open to anyone in the neighborhoods and are often the local center of activity during holidays and festivals such Pchum Benh and Khmer New Year. There is also a day time Baby Care Program at the Phnom Keiv Community Shelter for working parents.
