In the last week our Education Center was severely flooded during heavy rains. Since building our Education Center almost 10 years ago we have never experienced flooding like this. The damage has been extensive and the costs of repairs will be in the tens of thousands of dollars – structural damage to walls and classrooms, equipment and supplies, and vehicles.

While efforts are currently being made to clean and repair, all classes have been cancelled until further notice. Children, many of them who live with their parents at construction sites around the city, are missing out on their education as well as access to hot lunches, medical and dental services, and organized recreational activities.

All efforts are being made to restore the Center to a safe, functioning facility as soon as possible so that our students, all who come from vulnerable families, can return to access services and programs.
