“If it wasn’t for this work, I would have to walk around the neighborhood with my children looking for people who needed their clothes washed. I don’t know what else I could do”

Sreymao* is a young mother with four children aged 5 months to 14 years old. She is also one of the members of our Home Based Production program that trains at-risk parents sewing skills and gives them a sewing machine to work with from home. The products they produce at sold at M’Lop Tapang’s gift shops and to other suppliers.

Working from home, Sreymao can care for her children and earn an income. She currently earns about $50-100 week with her new sewing skills. Although many of M’Lop Tapang’s programs have been suspended due to the COVID19 situation, our Home Based Production program is continuing so these parents are not losing the income they need to support their families.
